Fire destroys mobile home

Firefighters battle a blaze at the Whispering Pines Mobile Home Park, 5296 N. Delsea Drive, Lot 32, early Sunday morning. Multiple fire companies from Vineland and Gloucester County responded to the 1:40 a.m. mobile home fire. According to one fire officer, a female occupant in the home escaped unharmed.

A heavy fire broke out around 1:40 a.m. Sunday at the Whispering Pines Mobile Home Park on the 5000 block of North Delsea Drive and destroyed a mobile home, according to Vineland Fire Department Lt. David Bell.

A mobile home there had “heavy flames from all sides of the trailer,” when firefighters arrived on scene, Bell said.

The trailer’s sole female occupant was not hurt in the incident, according to Bell.

As for the trailer’s damage, “it’s a total loss,” Bell said.

Fire departments from Vineland, Malaga and Franklinville responded to the scene, helping extinguish the blaze around 2:57 a.m.

The fire remains under investigation, according to Bell.
