Coastal New Jersey is under a flood advisory after more than a week of rain across parts of the state.

The National Weather Service said Thursday the advisory is in effect from 6 p.m. until midnight.

High tide is expected between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. along the ocean, and later along the back bays and Delaware Bay.

A surge of about a foot to 1.5 feet above the tide is expected.

Localized flooding that could close some roads is expected.
