UPDATE: Hockey referee: I was 'attacked' in Howell
HOWELL - Referee Dave Brown said Tuesday he was "attacked" during an altercation after a high school ice hockey game Sunday but did not elaborate about the incident at Howell Ice World.
Brown, 45, who is president of the New York-New Jersey chapter of the National Ice Hockey Officials Association, said he was one of two referees accosted by two parents who entered the referees' locker room on Sunday after the Howell-Manalapan game ended in a 1-1 tie.

Brown, of Wall, said he was advised by his lawyer not to go into details publicly, but told the Asbury Park Press, "We were attacked. Parents attacked the officials. I'm confident I can say that and it can't be misconstrued."
Howell Police Sgt. Christian Antunez told the Press Tuesday that "no arrests have been made nor are there any other updates" concerning the matter at this time. Antunez is reviewing the case to see if it warrants further investigation.
