An Alabama State Trooper stopped a vehicle for speeding in Limestone County on Sunday not knowing that the couple was on its way to the hospital to give birth, according to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Trooper Michael Kelser holding the baby at the hospital.

The soon-to-be mom Shawna Lowe had gone into labor and was close to delivery, according to WHNT-TV.

Trooper Michael Kelser jumped into action and assisted with delivering the baby, Secretary of Law Enforcement Spencer Collier told WHNT-TV.

Kesler called an ambulance after delivering the baby. The mother and baby were then taken to Athens Hospital, the news organization reports.

Gov. Robert Bentley tweeted, "Our State Troopers go above and beyond everyday. Trooper Michael Kesler proved that Sunday."

Kelser later met up with the family at the hospital, giving gifts and a chance to see the newborn again, according to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

How sweet!
