“This will be a life-changing opportunity for Eduardo,” said Louis Bramante, VHS automotive technology instructor and SkillsUSA adviser.

Zamorano is now eligible to represent New Jersey in the national competition, to be held June 20 to 25 in Louisville, Ky. He will compete against students from all 50 states and four U.S. territories.

“Every year this program stands out in both our district and in the state,” Principal Thomas McCann said. “This program is one of the best-kept secrets that constantly has a light shining on it.”

Zamorano also seeks donations to help raise the $3,675 it will cost for him to travel to Louisville in June. “Whatever anyone would like to send would be greatly appreciated, even if it’s only a dollar,” Bramante said.

Vineland High School Chapter No. 57 of SkillsUSA is a nonprofit organization, and donations are tax-deductible. The deadline to raise funds is June 1.

To make a donation, send a check payable to “VHS Activities Fund” with “SkillsUSA Donation” on the memo line to: NJ SkillsUSA Chapter 57, Vineland High School, 2880 E. Chestnut Ave., Vineland, NJ 08361.
