Parvin footbridge project needs helping hands

The Parvin State Park Appreciation Committee seeks volunteers to complete an approved National Trails Day special project beginning at 9 a.m. June 4.

PITTSGROVE - The Parvin State Park Appreciation Committee seeks volunteers to complete an approved National Trails Day special project beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 4.

The committee received approval to begin replacement of footbridges damaged by the floods of 2011 and 2012 and the 2012 derecho storm. This project will require “many hands” to make it a success, organizers say.

The committee has committed to working from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on this special project. Participants should meet at the Second Landing Natural Area parking lot, 869 Almond Road.

Volunteers should wear work clothes, boots, insect repellent and bring refreshments.
