BRIDGETON – A grand jury in Cumberland County this week indicted two men arrested in Millville in October 2015 after 40 bags of heroin were allegedly found in their vehicle.

New Jersey State Police arrested Maurice D. Loatman and Lonnie L. Mills on the 600 block of Buck Street after executing a search warrant. Loatman was immediately jailed but Mills was released on his own recognizance.

A Cumberland County grand jury on Feb. 10 indicted Maurice D. Loatman on drug charges. N.J. State Police arrested him on October 22, 2015 in Millville.

The Feb. 10 indictment runs to six counts.

Each man was indicted on counts of possession of heroin in an amount less than a half-ounce, possession of heroin with intent to distribute, and possession with intent to distribute heroin within a school zone. The arrest was made near R.D. Wood School.

The original arrest report stated that, in addition, troopers found two more bags of heroin, two bags of crack cocaine and 29 grams of marijuana.

Lonnie L. Mills was indicted Feb. 10 along with another man in a New Jersey State Police drug bust in Millville on Oct. 22, 2015.
