OCEAN CITY - The former vice principal and athletic director at a South Jersey high school has been indicted for allegedly accessing the email account of a high-ranking school official without permission.

Cape May County prosecutors say Christine Lentz faces charges of official misconduct, computer criminal activity and theft in the indictment handed up Tuesday by a county grand jury.

The 53-year-old Woodbine resident could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted on all counts.

Prosecutors say Lentz is accused of accessing the Ocean City school district email of the high school’s superintendent without permission on multiple occasions between April and June of last year. Lentz was employed by the district at the time the incidents allegedly occurred.
