GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP – Authorities are seeking the suspect who tried to set fire to the Galloway Township Police Headquarters.

Police say the suspect attempted to light a glass bottle containing what’s believed to be a petroleum-based accelerant. The bottle shattered over the lobby doors and floor, but did not ignite.

There were several officers and citizens in the lobby, but no one was injured.

The suspect, seen running toward the area of Jimmie Leeds Road, was described as a man in his mid- to late 20s with a pale and thin face, scruffy brown or ginger facial hair, wearing a brown or tan jacket with a checkered pattern, a gray hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, and dark pants.

Anyone with information on the crime is urged to contact Lt. Joseph Picardi at 609-652-3705, ext. 327.
