Investigators ID man fatally shot in Vineland

VINELAND - The man killed during an early morning home invasion Wednesday was identified as 24-year-old Amir El-Basirbey, according to Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office.

Basirbey, of East Oak Road, was fatally shot after several people forced their way into a home in the 500 block of Foster Avenue.

Police responded to the area after a 911 call alerted them to a shooting at the residence, near Lilac Drive.

Basirbey was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The shooting remains under investigation.
