The NFL’s new rule that calls for anyone who earns two unsportsmanlike conduct penalties in the same game to be ejected has claimed its first player.

During the fourth quarter of the Washington Redskins vs New York Giants matchup, Giants center Weston Richburg was ejected after a blindside hit on Redskins cornerback Josh Norman.

It was his second unsportsmanlike conduct penalty of the game and he was ejected.

The rule was instituted this offseason and was largely inspired by the the heated contest late last season between Norman and Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. Beckham earned three unsportsmanlike conduct penalties and was suspended for one game afterward.
