Millville man charged with four more robberies

VINELAND – City police charged a Millville man, already in jail in connection with two robbery cases, with four more holdups.

William R. Campbell, 31, of the 100 block of Dock Street, is now accused of an armed robbery spree that struck six businesses Sept. 21 through Oct. 18.

On Wednesday, Vineland detectives charged Campbell with the Oct. 4 robbery at Auctions by Mesiano in the 200 block of South Delsea Drive; the Oct. 14 robbery at Subway in the 3400 block of South Delsea Drive; the Oct. 17 robbery at the Dunkin’ Donuts in the 700 block of East Chestnut Avenue; and the Oct. 18 robbery at the J & J News Agency in the 700 block of North Main Road.

Campbell robbed each of the stores at gunpoint and, in two cases, struck the clerk before he fled, said Vineland detectives.

A week ago, police charged Campbell with a September robbery of the Dollar Plus Store in the 900 block of East Chestnut Avenue and the Oct. 16 holdup of the Hampton Inn and Suites on West Landis Avenue.

Campbell was being held in Cumberland County Jail on $500,000 cash bail. The additional charges tack on $1.4 million to his bail.
